Wasps and insects

Wasp and insect control in Hampshire

A wasp nest in the eaves, the loft or the garden. We treat it safely, tell you when it is safe to go near, and deal with other insect pests too.

Wasps build nests in eaves, lofts, sheds and bushes from spring. By late summer a nest can hold thousands of wasps that sting when disturbed. We find the nest, treat it safely and tell you when the area is clear. We also deal with other insect pests. It starts with a free site visit.

What we do

  1. Step 1

    Survey

We find the nest or source, check how to reach it, and note children, pets or customers nearby.

  2. Step 2

    Plan and price

You get a written plan and price before we start, including the treatment we will use.

  3. Step 3

    Treatment or installation

We treat the nest or affected area with professional products, applied where they reach it.

  4. Step 4

    Check

We check activity has stopped and tell you what to watch for over the next few days.

  5. Step 5

    Prevention

We advise on gaps, bins and food sources so wasps and other insects are less likely to return.

Law and safety

Done properly, within the law

Insecticides used in pest control come under COSHH, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations. We use them as their labels require and keep children, pets and customers clear while we work. Afterwards we tell you exactly what was used, where it was applied, and when it is safe to go back in.

A wasp nest starts the size of a golf ball in spring and can hold thousands of wasps by late summer. Earlier is easier.

Questions

Questions people ask

Should I remove a wasp nest myself?

It is safer not to. Wasps defend the nest and can sting many times, and nests in lofts or eaves are often hard to reach. Shop sprays may not reach the centre of the nest. Keep children and pets away from the entrance and get it treated.

What other insects do you deal with?

Wasps are our main insect work. We also deal with other insect pests in homes and commercial premises: ants, fleas, cockroaches, bed bugs and flies. Tell us what you are seeing when you get in touch and we will say straight away if we can help.

Is the treatment safe for children and pets?

The products come under COSHH rules. We keep children and pets away while we work, treat the nest rather than the whole area, and tell you what was used and when it is safe to go back in. Follow that advice and the risk is low.
